The client faced major challenges with fragmented data systems spread across multiple business units, creating duplication, inconsistent data, and delays in accessing customer insight. To modernise their operations, they needed a platform capable of sub-200ms latency, multi-tenancy, global data access, and a unified data model. gravity9 developed a proof of concept using MongoDB Atlas Stream Processing, Kafka, and AWS to test whether a modern data platform could handle this scale. The system streamed and enriched real-time events, created canonical transaction views, and was tested under realistic load, demonstrating low latency, high throughput, and strong stability.

Over six weeks, gravity9 delivered the infrastructure, testing framework, and live demonstrations without a dedicated DevOps role, validating Atlas’s ability to autoscale and maintain performance during spikes. The proof of concept confirmed that MongoDB Atlas could serve as the foundation for the client’s next-generation Operational Data Platform, guiding plans for an MVP and future use cases across payments, money transfer, and operational reporting. The client left the engagement confident in both the technology’s capability and gravity9’s value as a partner in innovation.
