When it comes to disrupting entire industries and building transformative customer experiences, you have to have an exceptional team that can build these products at pace.

Our team at gravity9 is just that; highly skilled, driven, passionate, and fun to work with!

We continue our Meet the gravity9ers series with the introduction of Katrin Hochstaetter.

What is your role at gravity9?

I’m a Director of Program Management. I joined gravity9 in July 2022 and have been focused on establishing the delivery function, while also being actively involved in some of our larger engagements.

What do you enjoy most about working at gravity9?

It’s the openness to finding new solutions and the general willingness to learn and improve. Most people at gravity9 are experts in their fields, but no one is satisfied with extending the status quo.

We are genuinely looking to get better at what we do every single day and learn from each other. This type of environment is one of the reasons why I went into technology in the first place.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone starting out in your line of work?

Against all stereotypes, technology is a highly collaborative environment and requires great communication skills. There are always the hard skills of each role, but also the soft skills of being able to interact and collaborate with others with varying skillsets and backgrounds.

What can’t you start your day without?

Something with milk, preferably coffee.

What do you do in your spare time?

I like to be active outdoors and to exercise. I also enjoy literature, watching movies and the great art & entertainment that NYC has to offer!

What is the last movie you watched?

The Banshees of Inisherin, a strange movie with an interesting perspective on what makes a life meaningful, the importance of niceness and which battles are worth fighting.

What special skill / talent do you have (other than what you do for a living)?

I’m a chocolate expert!

What would be your dream vacation?

A mix of exploration, relaxation, and good food. As for what places – there are so many that I have not been to, and some that I would like to revisit.

Lately I’ve been thinking about Ireland, Scotland and Costa Rica. The National Parks in the Southwest of the US have also been on the list for quite some time.

What is the last song you had stuck in your head?

I was recently in Frankfurt and randomly saw a live version of Joe Cocker’s “With A Little Help from My Friends” on TV. The first two lines of that song have been stuck in my head.
