When it comes to disrupting entire industries and building transformative customer experiences, you have to have an exceptional team that can build these products at pace.

Our team at gravity9 is just that; highly skilled, driven, passionate, and fun to work with!

We continue our Meet the gravity9ers series with the introduction of Tomasz Zaba.

What is your role at gravity9?

Initially I began as a Solutions Architect working on a specific client project. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to grow within the role and work across many disciplines, I really enjoy the opportunity to learn new skills and expand my capabilities.

What do you enjoy most about working at gravity9?

I enjoy that I can explore new areas of the role and in doing so explore my own strengths and capabilities as well as learning new things. There are always challenges on every project, but these are just opportunities to take a hold of. I like that there is scope to develop and there is trust placed in me to do my job and to do it well, yet I know I am supported no matter what.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone starting out in your line of work?

Two things; the first is never say no, never say something isn’t possible. Instead take time to think and work out how to solve it or learn what needs to be done. The second is never lie to a client. If you don’t know the answer just say you need time to go away and work it out, don’t pretend to know everything.

What can’t you start your day without?

Usually, a cup of coffee and, I have a new habit of opening the doors to my balcony and having a minute or two each morning just looking out to a nearby forest, during which I take a few breaths and prepare myself for the day.

What do you do in your spare time?

I like to keep myself in good shape so I go running, it helps clear my mind.

What is the last movie you watched?

I don’t really watch movies, but I do listen to a lot of audio books, especially when running. Currently I am listening to the whole of the Witcher saga, which I am trying to keep in chronological order.

What special skill / talent do you have (other than what you do for a living)?

I am playing the guitar a little, I have an acoustic and an electric and when I have some time, I jam with blues and rock notes.

What would be your dream vacation?

Oh yeah, trekking in Kathmandu, Nepal for two weeks definitely. Those high peaks would be amazing to climb, staying at the Mount Everest base camp; this would be the trip of a lifetime.

What is the last song you had stuck in your head?

I’ve been listening to Foreigner a lot, Urgent is the song I’ve had stuck in my head most recently.
